about

This was originally a song by my band 'Academy of Unrest' (1983 - 1985), so I cannot claim sole authorship, but thirty seven years later seemed a good time to revive it. Lyrics by Doug Eglin.

lyrics

Unnoticed by those she's trying to impress, personality drowning in a whirlpool of colour. Fate, she blames it on fate again. What's yours is mine if we last that long. Flying colours fast descending, remember all that's worth remembering. Voices calling, sound salvation, stored away for preservation in other rooms. Nobody there just when you need them most. Another slice of nowhere, a thousand nights spent with despair. Fate, she blames it on fate again. Wipe away your childhood and throw away your toys.
